When summertime hits, European workers spend a lot of time out of the office and the plant to enjoy life. American culture has focused heavily on less time off and more work. Short term, it’s healthy for the economy, but long term, it erodes the free American spirit.

    I agree completely. American vacation policy *****. I work for a company that was just purchased by a European firm, so I’m hoping they will extend their European vacation mentality to our operations.

    Perhaps we can blame the Puritans and their work-ethic for our current vacation policy?
