How good do you know your country? Be honest?
Me and my friends once decidet to do a road trip. All over our country. Without a plan. We just had some ideas where to go, but then we decidet to see anything that was on our way. If there was a sign for castle or some writers house or natural sights,… we just stopped at anything. It lasted for 4 days and it turned out to be one of the best trips ever. And we have also seen so much, including the thing we would not see normaly. Hey, we would never even plan to see those things.
And the costs were not s big. Of course, we payed for a gas and some entrance fees, but it was worthed.
Maby you should try to do it like that also.
How about Nascar School (Pettys school of Racing I think) or some other immersion Holiday that gives you a sense of accomplishment afterwards. A Dude Ranch? Mountain climbing? Scuba Diving for wrecks? etc.

We did just that this february; & believe u me, we were so exhausted yet so refreshed !!!!!!!!!!
Its also adventurous ; and if u have a friend with u, nothing like it to return refreshed and brimming with joy !!!!!
