The Spirit and the flesh do not go together easily. To the person whose heart is affected by this world, God’s heavenly answers seem too inconvenient to accept without at least a little tweaking.
But this is the height of unreasonableness, that anyone might scoff at any answer God gives them directly. God demonstrates His blameless grace by answering men’s prayers, even if His answers aren’t what men were hoping for.
If we humans, as a whole race, have passed down and improved on anything throughout the generations, it has been an aptitude for rejecting God’s straightforward answers. So we should seek the Spirit’s help for praying, not only to petition effectively, but also to accept His answers unconditionally.
God’s answers will always reflect the fact that He knows better. This is a good thing because our minds and hearts are naturally saturated with the insanity of sin.
God is already telling those of us who dare to listen how to approach Him, dwell in Him and how to live in general. All the inconvenient answers that we need to hear are already close at hand. For example, right when I start getting interested in praying about this terrible, fallen world around me is the time that God’s grace bursts every self-righteous bubble I’m using to keep myself comfortable. Around the time when I get my religious diplomas framed and ready to hang on my church wall is the same time that God comes in to crash my party by informing me that neither diplomas nor walls have much to do with the kingdom of heaven.
However, in Christ we church professionals have the opportunity to press past ourselves and onward toward maturity. Because He is the Lord over this reality, we can embrace our true spiritual conditions, surrender ourselves to Him and let Him move us on from here.
Christ is commanding more truthful introspection, not because we need more attention for ourselves, but because we ought to be realistically humble in our dealings with the Almighty. If we’re sure beyond a doubt that we’re full and complete and content with ourselves as a western church, then our first order of business is to embrace God’s unmistakably devastating brand of self-emptying and self-death. When our old selves are completely annihilated in Christ, then we will be free to move on from our distracted crawls, toward a more mature, Christ-centered walk.
In light of God’s nature and my experience thus far, I am convinced that we western churchgoers possess barely enough spiritual motor skills to put one spiritual stone on top of another. But, as for now, let’s be encouraged that even the most rudimentary motor skills can be developed over time, through active practice.
I don’t mean that we westerners don’t have all the right answers. On the contrary, we pride ourselves in having all the right answers. But have we tried these right answers?
Truly, we are a well-educated bunch. But have we ever put our education to work?
We may have read all about the mechanics of putting one spiritual stone on top of another, to the point that even conducting a church service sounds simple enough. Most churchgoers are content to know the right answers so they can… what? Why, of course, go back to church again. And next Sunday? Go back to church again.
We westerners are a people who prefer ask our peers about “how we are doing” rather than ask Christ. We would rather crowd around each other for mutual encouragement, regardless of God’s opinion of us. That Christ is literally available to field every one of our questions might even seem silly to many churchgoers.
When we need confirmation for our work, we look inward at ourselves. And, when we want something tangible, we manufacture something to fit the bill. But this is contrary to sincere, Christ-seeking experimentation. And these things also point toward this general truth, that we are a spiritually underdeveloped people.
Mind you, if the lines of communication between you and the Lord are wide open, then you need not panic in any case. In fact, if you are on the same page as Christ, then you don’t even need me to tell you not to panic because He is already your direct Source of encouragement.
A simple truth is that God is no fool. He is not mocked by us little people. If wise men cannot be easily duped by people who claim to be something they aren’t, how much less can any mortal person deceive the Lord Omniscient!
But He will endorse a church that is on the same page as He, so that the world’s attention will be drawn to the people who draw attention to Christ. He approves of either all or none of a person’s life so that those who are His are thoroughly His, whether they work or play, eat or drink, speak or sit quiet.
No matter how many right answers we have accumulated for ourselves, the truth is that we western churchgoers cling to religious distraction before we cling to Christ. We would clutch our predictable shiny things rather than inherit heavenly treasure in Christ, even if this treasure applies to our lives right now. But blessed is anyone out of whose hands the Lord pries these things.

at night when we go to sleep….what happens to our spirits why do we we have the dreams that we have? i dream alot about my ex and how hes happy …. i dream of us being together….not physically but just laughing care free just having him around me…..does my spirit go to him while im asleep does it travel all the way to the Dominican republic right into his bedroom ignoring his sleeping wife and just hugs him for dear life untill its time to wakeup i know this sounds freaky but i just wonder sometimes

As the loss of a loved one can be one of the greatest challenges in life and connecting to with spirit can be a life changing experience. I have a few question’s from the NCL Spirit Ship. Does it cost to have room service? I know the two main resturants are free and the buffets. Also does the inside state rooms have room refrigerators? Can I bring on a case of water or juice in my suitcase/carry on? This is a weird question but do they have grilled cheese on board lol..I don’t eat meat/poultry and I have to have a grilled cheese like aleast once a week.

The spirit continued to wander and ponder the question it had asked. After a while the spirit thought, I know, I will go and ask God. Since he is all knowing and all seeing, I’m sure he will have the answer to this question.
So the spirit set of to find God and satisfy the curiosity that was burning deep within.
After a short while the spirit found God and asked if he could answer a question. “Off course said God, you know you can ask me anything you want. Come with me, I feel this question might take longer to answer than you might think”.
The spirit followed god and they sat down in some big comfortable chairs in a large quiet room. “So, said God, what is the question that you seem so keen to ask me?” “Well, said the spirit, I was just wondering why, when things are so perfect and in complete harmony here in heaven that so many spirits decide to leave and become human on the planet called earth?”
“Mmmm”, said God, “I knew your question might take a while. Let’s start by letting you observe the earth from here. That might answer your question, but I know it will raise even more questions”. The spirit looked at God not quite sure what he meant but agreed to do as God asked and observe how life on earth was attracting spirits to it.
After observing several years of life on earth, the spirit had seen enough to satisfy the curiosity it had felt but now had so many questions it wasn’t sure if it could remember them all. As if he knew the spirit was ready God appeared and sat himself down in the big comfortable chair again.
“Well” said God, “has your question been answered?” “I think so” said the spirit, “but now I have so many other questions I don’t know where to start.”
“How about from the beginning” said God.
“Ok I have seen the thing called birth and know what that is. But with so many births how does a spirit know which birth it wants to move into?”
“That’s a good question” God answered, “and since you have been to earth several times you should be able to answer that yourself”. The spirit thought for a moment and realised that God was right.
“I remember now” the spirit uttered. “The last time I left here and went to earth you said it didn’t really matter which birth I chose as long as I never allowed the human experience to lose me within itself”. You said that I would know which human experience to choose because I would learn the lessons I needed to grow”.
“That’s right, and if you can remember your last human experience you will remember if you learned those lessons or if you need to go back and relearn or learn new ones in order for you to grow and reach your full spiritual potential” said God looking closely at the spirit to see if it was beginning to make sense.
“I’m not really sure” the spirit replied, I haven’t really thought about it until now. What I can’t understand is why life on earth seems so complicated and why most humans are so unhappy all the time. When I was observing earth from here, there seemed to be so many things that go with the human experience. Things like happiness, sadness, fear, anger, love, hate, jealousy..”
“Woa Stop said God, Let’s back up here a little bit. Most of what you are saying is all about human emotions and they are all part of the human experience. Do you have any specific question you would like to ask?
“Well yes” said the spirit. Is it true that when we are born into the human experience that we are as pure in spirit as I am now.
“Absolutely” God replied.
“So why do so many spirits get lost inside the human experience and lead a life on earth that doesn’t seem fulfilling and is full of sadness and pain?”
“Well” said God, “the human experience involves something I created called the brain. Sadly few humans actually use this creation the way I designed it, to be a great tool for creating things for themselves. In fact some humans on earth, right now, are beginning to realise that they are using 10% or less of this great creation and are starting to find ways to use more. But at this time on earth these people are few and far between. It’s all part of the learning experience that each human and spirit has to go through”.
“It is changing but it has been a long, slow process. To answer your question, humans use the brain for almost everything they do but they don’t hear the voice inside, the spirit, because they are to busy trying to figure out everything from a creation which they are only using a very small part of. Soon they become so tied up in the life that they are creating, good or bad, that the spirit get lost or drowned out. It’s only when the human body stops functioning that the spirit is released and can come back to contemplate the lessons it has learned”.
The spirit looked thoughtful for a moment and then said “I still don’t really understand how the spirit gets lost inside the human experience. How can the brain if it’s not being used to its’ full potential be stronger than the spirit and drown the spirit out? Why can’t you make it so that a human can use the brain you created to its full potential and let the spirit be part of that?”
God smiled and said “that’s because not only did I create the brain, I also gave the human experience free will”.
“Free will” the spirit exclaimed, now looking even more confused.
“Yes” said god, “Free will. You see, if everything was perfect on earth the human would not be able to learn and grow just as in the same way the spirit could not learn and grow. So I gave the human experience free will to choose and make decisions about how to best live that lifetime”.
“Some are very good at using free will and some are not. So when the spirit is born into the human experience it is as pure as you are now but it is the use of the brain and free will that determines whether that human experience is good, bad or indifferent. It’s only when the human experience and spirit are working together in harmony that life on earth can become a wonderful occurrence, filled with joy, abundance, happiness and inner peace”.
“I see” said the spirit, “So humans have the choice to make their lives on earth as good or bad as they want to. It’s just at this time not many are aware of this”
“Got it in one” said God and he leaned back on the chair grinning as he saw the spirit was beginning to understand. “Everyone on earth can make choices and decisions using their free will. It’s the quality of there thoughts and actions whilst using free will that determines the outcomes throughout their lifetime”.

at night when we go to sleep….what happens to our spirits why do we we have the dreams that we have? i dream alot about my ex and how hes happy …. i dream of us being together….not physically but just laughing care free just having him around me…..does my spirit go to him while im asleep does it travel all the way to the Dominican republic right into his bedroom ignoring his sleeping wife and just hugs him for dear life untill its time to wakeup i know this sounds freaky but i just wonder sometimes
